is the BookExchange mission statement? [ top]
Our
mission is to give college students an opportunity to buy textbooks
for less and sell used textbooks for more. This is accomplished by offering
an online marketplace where students can buy/sell their textbooks directly
to each other.
What
does it cost to set up an account? [top]
Setting
up an account is absolutely free. Once you have an
account you can add the books you wish to sell and being searching
for books to buy. Buying and selling books at the BookExchange is
also totally free. There
are no more fees on the BookExchange, so there is nothing to stop
you from giving it a try.
Is
it safe to create an account with the BookExchange?

Creating an account is completely safe and secure. We do not ask for
any billing information, only contact information. Your contact information
is secure with us and will only be given out to the customer that
you are exchanging a book with. Your contact information (including
your email address) will never be given/sold out to anyone else.
I
forgot my username or password. How can I find it out?
[top]
If you
know your username or the email address listed on your account, you
can have your password emailed to you by
clicking here (note: if you have listed an email address for your
account other than your university email, the message may be sent
to your junk mailbox). If you don't know your username, you will need
to contact the BookExchange by emailing Support@KYBookExchange.com
and request that the info be sent to your registered email address.
Please be sure to include your full name in the email.
Is everything really free?

Yes, every feature
on the site is absolutely free. There are no more fees on the
BookExchange, so there is nothing to stop you from giving it a try. All that we
ask is that you do the right thing and tell all your friends about this service
that can save them tons of money.

How
can I post a book for sale at the BookExchange? [top]
Posting
a book at the BookExchange is simple. First you must set up a free
account and sign in. After you are signed in, you need to go to "add
a book". From this page you need to fill out the "add new
book" form. This form contains all the necessary information that
the buyer will need to purchase the book from you. The best part is
you get to set your own prices. After you submit the form, the book
will be available for sale to all Book Exchange members.
How
much does it cost to post a book at the BookExchange?

Posting
a book is totally free. In fact it's abolutely free
to buy books as well. When
you sell a book the buyer pays you directly for the book. When you
buy a book you pay the seller the price of the book. There
are no more fees on the BookExchange, so there is nothing to stop
you from giving it a try.
Who
will buy my book? [top]
Your book
will be sold directly to another Book Exchange member. Your book will
show up in searches that other members perform.
How
can I search for books on the BookExchange? [top]
Searching
for a books is simple. From the home page, click on the "Search
for books" link. At this point you will have the choice to search
by several different filters. Select a filter, fill in the criteria
field and click the "Search" button. A list of all books matching
your criteria will appear. Browse through the selections for the exact
book you need at the price you want and click "buy it" to
purchase the book. note: You will need to sign in to your account purchase
a book on the BookExchange.
How
can I buy a book at the BookExchange? [top]
Buying
a book off the BookExchange site is easy. First you must set up a
free account and sign in. After you are signed in, you need to go
to "search for books". From this page you can search for
books based on several filters and criteria. Be sure you are getting
the specific book that you are looking for as certain books have several
different editions. Once you find the book you're looking for click
"buy it". After you confirm your book request, please give
the seller 4 days to finalize the sale. Once the sale is finalized
both the buyer and seller will receive each others' contact information
and make the exchange.
What if I can't a book I'm looking for on the BookExchange?

If you can't currently find a book on the BookExchange, you should add
it to your watchlist. You will be notified
via email if someone adds a book on your watchlist. List books to your watchlist
based on ISBN or course ID number. If you need the book right away and it is
not on the BookExchange, then we recommend trying half.com (really just anywhere
other than the evil bookstores).
How
much does it cost to buy a book at the BookExchange?

you buy a book you pay the seller the price of the book. There
are no more fees on the BookExchange, so there is nothing to stop
you from giving it a try.

is the price of the book determined? [top]
The price
of the books being sold at the BookExchange is determined directly
by the seller.

do I pay for a book I've bought? [top]
If you've
purchased a book at the BookExchange, then you need to meet up with
the buyer and pay them directly for the book. At this point you will
make the exchange and give them the amount that was posted.

do I receive payment for a book I've sold? [top]
If you've
sold a book at the BookExchange, then you need to meet up with the
seller and receive payment from them directly. At this point you will
make the exchange and give them the book for the price that you posted.

do I get in touch with buyer? [top]
Once you
have finalized the sale of a book another member has requested, you
will be emailed with the contact information of the buyer. Either give
them a call or shoot them an email and setup a good time to meet and
make the exchange. Remember always meet in the daylight and in a high
traffic area.

sale has been finalized for a book that you've requested an email will
be sent to you with the contact information of the buyer. Either give
them a call or shoot them an email and setup a good time to meet and
